Obituary-The Oakdale Sentinel-October 8, 1936

ANDREW HERBERT NORWOOD

Abridged: Andrew Herbert NORWOOD was born in Delaware County, New York, December 29, 1859 and passed away October 5, 1936. He moved to Chickasaw County, Iowa with his parents in 1865 and to Antelope County, Nebraska, in 1874, locating four miles west of Clearwater. Later the same year he moved to Tekamah, Nebraska where he learned the harness business. In 1877 he freighted to the Black Hills, returning the same year making his home west of Clearwater, and in the fall of 1878 he came to Oakdale where he has since resided. In 1883 he was united in marriage of Loretta WILDERMUTH. To this union was born five daughters and one son, the son preceding him in death in September 1892. Those left to mourn him are his wife and daughters, Mrs Pearl GROSS, West Point, Mrs Ruby HAWK, Arcadia, Ca, Mrs Opal CARSTENSEN, Oakdale, Mrs Rilla CAMERZELL, Norfolk and Mrs Wilda CARSTENSEN, Molalla, Oregon, fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home and at the Methodist Church. Burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery.
