Minerva Ella (WORDEN) OLDS

Abridged: Funeral services were held Saturday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church for Mrs Ella Olds who died Thursday. Interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery. Minerva Ellen Worden was born at Antwerp in Paulding County, Ohio on April 5, 1868 and passed away at the home of Mr and Mrs Jay Robyler in Neligh on January 15, 1953. She was the daughter of Sanford and Mary Nancy Worden. On March 16, 1887 she was united in marriage to Van Buren Olds and to this union were born two daughters, Mrs George Daughhetee of Oakdale and Mrs Earl Petersen of Boulder, CO. Mrs Olds has four grandchildren, Lynden Petersen, Aurora, CO, Eldon Daughhetee, Anderson, IN, Jeaneen Thiemann, O’Neill, and Marlynn Daughhetee, Oakdale, two great grandchildren, Robby and Cathy Daughhetee, Anderson, IN, two half-sisters, Mrs Jay Ames, Neligh and Mrs Artie Young, Denver and a half-brother, Chas Worden, Neligh. She was buried beside her husband who preceded her in death April 30, 1938. She leaves to mourn her passing, her two daughters and other relatives and friends.

VAN BUREN OLDS

Funeral services were held here Tuesday afternoon for V. B. OLDS father of Mrs George DAUGHHETEE. Mr. Olds, who was 78, died Saturday at his home in Fullerton. He had been in ill health for about five years. Mr. Olds was well known in this community, especially by the old timers. He was a mason by trade and did much work in and around Oakdale. He lived at Elgin at one time. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs George DAUGHHETEE of Oakdale and Mrs. Blanche PETERSON of Fullerton. Services were held at the home in Fullerton and at the Adventist church here with burial in the Oakdale cemetery.

Van Buren OLDS was born at Laport, Black Hawk County, Iowa, March 25, 1860. He departed this life at his home at Fullerton, Nebraska, at the age of seventy-eight years, one month and six days. His going was at the sunset of his life, his passing was Sabbath afternoon at 4:30. He and his wife went to Fullerton eight years ago, from Albion, to make their home. His earlier life was spent in Iowa, later coming to Nebraska. He was united in marriage to Miss Ellen WORDEN of Neligh, Nebraska, March 16, 1887. To this union was born two daughters. He was the second eldest in a family of ten children, seven boys and three girls. His mother died in the year 1882 and his father died in 1903. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Ellen Olds, two daughters, Mrs. Earl H. PETERSON of Fullerton and Mrs. George DAUGHHETEE of Oakdale; four grandchildren, Eldon DAUGHHETEE, Jeaneen DAUGHHETEE and Marylynn DAUGHHETEE of Oakdale and Lynden PETERSON of Fullerton; two sisters, Mrs. Maude SHABRAM of Lowell, Michigan, Mrs. Bertha FORD of Petersburg, Michigan; two brothers, Frank OLDS of Omaha and OLDS of Turlock, California, and many other relatives and friends. He was baptized in the year of 1895, uniting with the Seventh Day Church of God. He was always a kind and loving father, husband and friend.
