FREDERIKKE MULLER OLSON

Abridged: On Tuesday, March 4, 1902 at 7 p.m. at her home in Oakdale, Frederikke, wife of O. A. OLSON, died at the age of 59 years, 5 months and 7 days. Frederikke MULLER was born at Christensand, Norway on September 25, 1842. She was married in 1871 to Ole Andreas OLSON and in 1874 came to this country. They came to Oakdale in 1880. Six sons were born to them, four living: Olaf, CARL, Andrew and George. The funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal Church on Thursday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. LEIDY. The remains were laid to rest in the Oakdale Cemetery.

FREDRICK M. OLSON

Died at his home in Oakdale, Nebraska at 1 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 1894, Fredrick M OLSON, aged seventeen years, eleven months and twenty-one days. The deceased, second son of Mr and Mrs O. A. OLSON of this place, was born in Onawa, Iowa, June 8, 1876. He removed with his parents to Oakdale, May 5, 1880. The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Chuch by Rev. PARTCH at 10 a.m. Decoration Day. The pallbearers were Rudie Retzlaff, James CLINGMAN, Clyde BECKWITH, William PRIESTLY and Frank CAMPBELL, all schoolmates of the deceased. The large number of friends who followed the remains to the cemetery gave proof of the esteem in which he was held by all.

JULIA (SMITH) OLSON

The remains of Mrs. Olaf G. Olson, whose death occurred January 4, 1921 at Excelsior Springs, Mo., were received at Oakdale last Sunday afternoon. Following funeral services at the M.E. Church, conducted by Rev. C. L. MEYERS, burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery by the side of her husband who died January 4, 1906. Julia SMITH was born at White Pigeon, Michigan, September 16, 1869. In 1896 she was married to Olaf G. OLSON. Two years later Mr. and Mrs. OLSON entered government service as teachers in Indian schools, their work being among the Sioux of South Dakota, the Siwashes of Washington and the Apaches of Arizona. After the death of her husband the deceased spent several years in Oakdale where she had many friends and was highly esteemed. Later she took a homestead in Wyoming where she made her home part of the time, spending intervals with her brother, Fred SMITH of Norfolk and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Geo. WORTHINGTON of Battle Creek, the mother of the deceased, who is 89 years of age, was present at the funeral together with her son, grandson and great grandson.
