MARIE K PARSONS

Graveside services for Marie PARSONS, 80, of Neligh were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 18 in the Oakdale Cemetery with the Rev. Harold SMITH, vicar of St Peter’s Episcopal Church, officiating. A.P.E.O service was conducted at the cemetery with Neligh Chapter C.Q. in charge. Marie K. PARSONS, daughter of E. J. and Blanche (NARCROSS) SPIETH, was born June 6, 1908, at Miller and died July 14, 1988 at Antelope Memorial Hospital. She attended Rockford Women’s College in Rockford, Illinois and Kearney State College. For many years she worked in the Oakdale bank as a cashier. On Oct, 1929 she married Kenneth PARSONS of Burwell. They moved to the Neligh area in 1947, coming from Omaha. Mrs PARSONS was a member of St Peter’s Episcopal Church. She was also a member of P.E.O Sisterhood, Chapter C.Q. of Neligh. Preceding her in death were her parents and husband. Survivors include one son, William C. of Silver Springs, Maryland.

KENNETH M PARSONS

Funeral services for Kenneth M PARSONS of Neligh were held Wednesday, July 24 at 10 a.m. at the Neligh St Peter’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Gary R YOUNG of Bassett officiating. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery with Ralph KINNAN, Leonard OBERSHAW, LaVerne Clausen, Ivan KINNAN, Raymond CROSIER, and Francis SONNENFELT serving as pallbearers. Kenneth M PARSONS was born November 20, 1905 at Ord, the son of William Curtis PARSONS and Eleanor MOTTER PARSONS. He died Sunday, July 21, 1968 at the Lutheran Hospital at Norfolk. At the time of his death he was cashier and vice president of the First National Bank of Oakdale. On October 5, 1929 he was married to Marie K SPIETH. They moved to Neligh from Omaha in January of 1948. He is survived by his wife, one son, William Curtis PARSONS II of Washington, D C and his mother of Burwell.
