Mary Ann PRICKETT

Abridged: Mrs Mary Prickett, 57, was killed Friday afternoon, December 20, 1956, when her car was struck by a C&NW freight train at the railroad crossing in the northwest edge of Oakdale. Mrs Prickett’s husband, Robert H Prickett, was a railroadman. He died October 25, 1956. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Oakdale Methodist Church. Interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery. Mary A Thoendel, daughter of Mr and Mrs Gustav Thoendel, was born August 5, 1900 at Bliss. She married Glen Clark in 1919. A son and a daughter were born to them. After Mr Clark’s death, she was married in 1933 to Robert H Prickett. They had four children. Surviving Mrs Prickett are four sons, Arthur Clark, who is with the Navy, Robert G. Prickett, employed by C&NW at Fremont, Carl, serving with the Air Force in the Pacific, and Melvin at home; two daughters, Mrs Arden Thompson of Fremont and Betty at home. Melvin and Betty will move to Fremont to live.

Robert Hansley PRICKETT

Abridged: Funeral rites with full military honors were held Monday at the Oakdale Methodist Church for Robert H Prickett. Interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery. Robert Hansley Prickett, son of Lawrence and Henrietta Prickett, was born January 25, 1895 at Fay, OK and died at the Veteran’s Hospital in Omaha on October 18, 1956. He came to Nebraska to the Newport vicinity, with his parents, in 1916. The family later returned to their former home, but Mr Prickett remained. In 1918 he entered the service of his country. Due to the signing of the Armistice, he never died foreign duty. Mr Prickett entered the service of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad in 1926 with continuous service until his illness. On September 23, 1933, he was united in marriage to Mary A Clark at Neligh. At this time they moved to the Oakdale community. To this union were born three sons, Robert G, Carl and Melvin, and one daughter, Betty. Robert is in the US Air Force and is stationed at Omaha. The other children live at Oakdale. He is survived by his widow, his four children and two stepchildren, Mrs Arden Thompson of Fremont and Arthur J Clark of the U. S. Navy at Pensacola, FL. Mr Prickett is the first of a family of four boys and six girls to answer the final call. His brothers and sisters are: Chester, Marcola, OR, Mrs Percy Wile, Mrs Carl Abbercrombie and Mrs Alice Pudwill, all of Springfield, OR, Paul of Lodi, CA, Ruth Huston, Stockton, CA, Jess and Mrs Ed Prickett, both of Fay, OK and Mrs Raymond Schuerer of Watonga, CA
