LAURA PALMER RICHARDS

Laura PALMER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. PALMER, was born on October 1, 1878, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. W. KATZBERG, at Spring Valley, Minnesota, on April 9, 1946. She spent her girlhood in the vicinity of Oakdale until her marriage to Daniel B. RICHARDS of Fremont in November 1907. They made their home in Columbus, Grand Island and later moved to Omaha where the family is at present. Two children were born to them, Mable RICHARDS and Jack RICHARDS, both of whom survive her. She was active in civic and community affairs; a member of the Woman’s Club and a member of the Eastern Star. During World War I she was a captain of the Red Cross Canteen Service in Grand Island. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Grand Island and later in Omaha. She is survived by her husband Daniel B. RICHARDS, daughter, Mable, Mrs. L. W. KATZBERG, Spring Valley Minn., son Jack RICHARDS, 2 sisters, Mrs. J. B. HODGE of Boone and Mrs. A. B. NEUENSWANDER of Atkinson; 2 brothers Claude WARNER of Clearwater and Lovell WARNER of Tilden. Funeral services were conducted in the Oakdale Methodist church Sunday afternoon by the pastor, Rev. Dawson J. PARK. Burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery.
