MRS. C. G. ROUSE

Mrs ROUSE, wife of Rev. C. G. ROUSE of Inman, died at Inman, Friday, August 2, 1889. She was a sister of Mr. A. J. MOTTER. The remains were interred in the Oakale Cemetery last Sunday.

Clyde ROUSE

Clyde, son of James ROUSE and Minnie WILKINSON, was born near Oakdale, Nebraska, on January 2, 1891, and departed this life at the Veterans Hospital at Lincoln August 13, 1940, at the age of forty-nine years, seven months and eleven days. He grew to manhood in the Oakdale community and, with the exception of some fifteen years in North Dakota and two years and two months serving his country in the army in the World War, he spent his life here. He was the fourth of a family of thirteen children, two of which, a sister, Minnie Pearl ROUSE, and a brother, Clifford ROUSE, passed away in infancy. He leaves to mourn his passing five sisters and five brothers; Mrs. Blanche WALTERS, Mrs. Nina SOULIER and Mrs. Faye KECK, Puyallup, Washington, Mrs. Evelyn KECK and Lloyd ROUSE, Sumner, Washington, John ROUSE and Roy ROUSE of Sioux City, Iowa, Mrs. Julia STOTTS and Charles ROUSE and David ROUSE of Oakdale; also a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Charles ROUSE home Thursday afternoon with Rev. L. A. Reger in charge. Interment was the Oakdale cemetery.

GLADYS RUTH KELLY ROUSE

Funeral services for Mrs Charles (Gladys) ROUSE of Oakdale were held Friday, November 28, at 2 p.m., at the Church of Christ in Neligh with burial in the Oakdale Cemetery. Alvin SCHWARTING of Oakdale and Robert TROSPER of Neligh officiated at the service and serving as pallbearers were Francis SONNENFELT, Manuel THOMPSON, Everet ARMSTRONG, Dean HUGHES, Raymond CROSIER and Leonard OBERSHAW. Gladys Ruth ROUSE was born April 19, 1900 to Alexander and Malinda (BLACK) KELLY at Tilden and died November 25, 1969 in the Tilden Community Hospital at the age of 69 years, 7 months and 6 days. Most of her life was spent in Sioux City and Oakdale. On May 23, 1919 she was married to Charles ROUSE at Elgin and to this union four sons were born. She was a Gold Star Mother of World War II. Mr and Mrs ROUSE celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in May of 1969. Survivors include her husband, Charles, three sons, Van of Oakdale, Maynard of McCook, and Charles (Mick) of Neligh, nine grandchildren, one sister, Lena STANSBERRY of Norfolk, three brothers, David of Sioux City, Robert of Clearwater and William of Norwalk, California. Her son, Wayne, her parents, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

Mary Minnie WILKINSON ROUSE

Mrs Minnie ROUSE, pioneer resident of Antelope County, passed away at her home here Monday. She had been seriously ill for some time. Funeral services were conducted at the United Brethren Church in Oakdale by the Rev. Charles SODDERSTEIN of Clearwater Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery. Mary Minnie WILKINSON was born at Vinton, IA, January 22, 1867 and passed away June 24, 1935 in Oakdale, Nebraska, aged 68 years, five months and two days. At the age of four years she came to Nebraska with her parents, Willard and Jane WILKINSON. They settled first in Grant Township near Oakdale. She lived there until her marriage to James ROUSE, after which they lived in Antelope County, the last twenty-nine years being spent in Oakdale. To this union thirteen children were born, two of whom, with her husband, preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her departure five daughters, Mrs Julia STOTT and Mrs Nina SOULIER of Oakdale, Mrs Blanche STRONG of Sioux City, Mrs Evelyn KECK of Clearwater and Mrs Faye KECK of Norfolk, six sons, Clyde of Whitehorse, SD, Charles, David and Lloyd of Oakdale, Roy of Sioux City and John of Elgin, thirty-nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one sister, five brothers and a host of friends. Mrs ROUSE was a kind and loving wife and mother. A true friend, ever willing and ready to give assistance to those in need.

MARJORIE HUGHES ROUSE

Funeral services for Mrs Van ROUSE of Oakdale were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 2 at Hoepfinger Home for Funerals in Neligh with the Rev. Alvin SCHWARTING officiating. Interment was in the Oakdale Cemetery and serving as pallbearers were Leonard OBERSHAW, Francis SONNENFELT, Raymond CROSIER, Manuel THOMPSON, Donald OFE, and Everett ARMSTRONG. Marjorie HUGHES, daughter of John and Ada HUGHES, was born November 10, 1925 at Attleboro, Massachusetts and died March 29, 1971 at the Tilden community Hospital. She was married to Van R. ROUSE at Norfolk on December 3, 1947. Surviving are her husband, Van, one daughter, Vana, one son, Baron, all of Oakdale, one sister and three brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.

VAN CHARLES ROUSE

Funeral services for Van Charles ROUSE, 51, of Oakdale were held Wednesday, August 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Hoepfinger’s Home for Funerals at Neligh. Alvin SCHWARTING, minister of the Church of Christ at Oakdale, officiated at the service and burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery. Pallbearers were Irvie SCHWARTING, Manuel THOMPSON, Francis SONNENFELT, Bill REYNOLDS, Ivan KINNAN, and Raymond CROSIER. Van ROUSE was born April 6, 1923 at Elgin to Mr and Mrs Charles ROUSE and died August 26, 1974. He was a veteran of World War II and on December 3, 1947 was married at Norfolk to Marjorie HUGHES of Attleboro, Massachusetts. Survivors include two children, Mrs Bob (Vana Rae) SHENSHAW and Baron Van, both of Oakdale, his father, Charles G ROUSE of Grand Island, and two brothers, Maynard W of McCook and Charles J (Mick) of Neligh. He was preceded in death by his wife, mother and one brother.
