HAROLD EUGENE SANDERSON

Funeral services for Harold Eugene SANDERSON were held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 14, at the Oakdale United Methodist Church. The Rev. Martha Voight officiated and burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery with Kriss, Terry and Nick SANDERSON, John THRAMER, Donald DEAN and Robert STONE serving as pallbearers. He was born in Royal on May 9, 1920, the son of James and Edith (ACTON) SANDERSON and died at Methodist Hospital on February 9, 1995 at the age of 74 and nine months. SANDERSON grew to manhood in the Royal and Brunswick area and graduated from Brunswick high-school in 1938. On June 26, 1941 he married in Pierce to Elizabeth ENSMINGER of Brunswick. The couple farmed south of Oakdale. In 1957 they moved into Oakdale where he was employed by the Antelope County Department of Roads until his retirement in 1987. In December, 1972, he married Betty Lou KORSGARD of Oakdale. They made their home in Oakdale until his death. He was a member of the Oakdale volunteer fire department for many years. Survivors include his wife Betty, of Oakdale, five sons and spouses, James and Phyllis of Oakdale, Richard and Carol of Norfolk, Robert and Annette of Deloit, Iowa, Michael and Cindy of Oakdale and Kriss and Lisa of Neligh, one daughter, Mrs J R (Audrey) THEIMANNof Neligh, 13 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three brothers, Earl of Annapolis, Maryland, Floyd of Lyons and Lyle of Rensselaer, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Everett, Lester, Darrel and Wayne, and one sister, Darlene DEAN. Huffman’s Brooks Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

SUSAN WELLS SANDERSON

Funeral services for Mrs James (Susan) SANDERSON, 27, of Pierce will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierce. The Rev. Eldon MCKAMY will officiate. Mrs SANDERSON was killed in a head-on car crash Wednesday, March 27, 1974, near Hadar. The body will lie in state 3-9 p.m. today (Friday) at Stonacek’s Memorial Chapel in Pierce. The rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronald RETZLAFF, Gerald DUX, Don WOOD, Ron SOENKSEN, Leon JANOVEY, and Kenneth SCHEER. Mrs SANDERSON was born April 20, 1946, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Edwin WELLS, Osmond. She graduated from Neligh High School in 1964. She married James SANDERSON June 8, 1964 at Neligh. For the past eight years she lived in Pierce, where her husband is a teacher. She worked at Dale Electronics in Norfolk. She is survived by her widower, James, two daughters, Theresa and Jennifer, her parents, Mr and Mrs Ed WELLS of Neligh, one brother, John of Neligh, one sister, Mrs Richard (Mary) CONNETT of Neligh and grandparents Mr and Mrs Andy WELLS of Denver, Colorado.
