ALICE SWANSON

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 26 at Hoepfinger Home for Funerals at Neligh for Miss Alice SWANSON of Oakdale who died Tuesday, November 23,1971 at Manor Hall at Tilden. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery and serving as pallbearers are Irvin WAGNER, Raymond NYGREN, CARL NYGREN, Ivan KINNAN, Ralph KINNAN AND Clifton HANSON. The body will lie in state Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Alice SWANSON was born on August 16, 1890 at Oakdale to Nels Peter SWANSON and Alida S NYGREN SWANSON. She died at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 7 days.

ALIDA SOPHIA NYGREN SWANSON

Abridged. Alida Sophia NYGREN was born February 22, 1861 at Bockara of Morlunda, Kalma Lane, Sweden, the eldest daughter of August and Mathilda NYGREN. In the spring of 1868 she came with her parents to Rockford, Illinois, where they lived until the fall of 1869 when the family came to Nebraska among the earliest settlers of Saunders County, locating on a homestead near the present location of the village of Mead. There she grew to womanhood and on June 3, 1882 she was united in marriage to N. P. SWANSON. With her husband she came to Antelope County in the spring of 1883 and settled on a homestead south of Oakdale. There were born four children, Nels Herbert Wilhelm, who died in infancy, Esther, Luther and Alice. In 1913 the family moved to Oakdale where they have since lived. She died May 29, 1924 aged sixty-three years, three months and seven days. She leaves to mourn her absence, her husband, one son, Luther of Bangite, Arkansas, two daughters, Esther and Alice, one foster son, Fred and one foster daughter, Neva, all of Oakdale. One brother, John G NYGREN of Wahoo, Nebraska, one sister, Otelia NYGREN of Oakdale, two grandchildren, also other relatives and many friends. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Oakdale. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. C. L. MEYERS and interment was in the Oakdale Cemetery.

ESTHER SWANSON

Funeral services for Miss Esther SWANSON of Oakdale were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 24 at the Oakdale Methodist Church. The Rev. C. J. BUEHLER of Elgin officiated at the service and burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery. Pallbearers were Raymond NYGREN, Clifton HANSON, Ivan KINNAN, CARL NYGREN, Irvin WAGNER and Ralph KINNAN. Esther SWANSON was born February 28, 1885 at Oakdale to Nels Peter SWANSON and Alida S. NYGREN SWANSON and died Tuesday May 21, 1968 at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 23 days. She is survived by one sister, Alice SWANSON of Oakdale, brother Fred Lockwood SWANSON of Hot Springs, South Dakota and one sister-in-law, Mrs Louise BRANTING of Little Rock, Arkansas.
