ALBERTINA JOSEPHINE BENSON TELGREN

News of the death of Mrs. Gus TELGREN last Saturday (September 18, 1920) forenoon, following only a few hours a report of her improved condition, was a shock to the entire community. She had been in poor health for a long time and a few weeks ago submitted to a surgical operation. Her real trouble was not discovered until too late and the skill of the best surgeons was exerted in vain. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home, conducted by Rev. A. B. Albertina Josephine BENSON was born in Holland, Sweden, March 17, 1863 and died at her home September 18, 1920, aged 57 years, 6 months and 1 day. At the age of 23 she came to America and on February 24, 1891, at Omaha, she was married to Gus TELGREN. After a residence of two years they came to Oakdale and settled on a farm nine miles south of this place which has since been their home. Four children were born to Mr and Mrs TELGREN, namely; Arthur TELGREN, Anna PREVO, Alma DRAKE, and Ruben TELGREN. Besides the husband and children she leaves five grandchildren, two brothers, Albert BENSON of Sweden and John BENSON of Omaha, and one sister Anna LUND of Genoa. The deceased was a faithful wife, patient and loving mother, an unselfish neighbor and a true friend. She was a member of the Star ladies aid society and a tireless worker in the activities of the society and church. She was loved and esteemed by a host of friends and a wide circle of acquaintances.
