DANIEL PERRY TOMPKINS

Memorial services for Daniel Perry Tompkins, 78, Oakdale, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Norfolk. Steve BELL will officiate with burial of cremains at a later date in the Oakdale Cemetery. Hoepfinger-Beyer Funeral Home of Neligh is in charge of arrangements. He died Sunday , August 15, 1993, at a Norfolk hospital. He was born June 20, 1915, at St Augustine, Florida to Percy and Annie (STEWART) TOMPKINS. He lived most of his life in St Augustine, where he was associated with an Oldsmobile and Cadillac dealership. He married Iris WICKS in 1933. They moved to Nebraska in 1966 and resided at Norfolk. After his wife died, he married Marjorie SMITH in 1977. They moved to Oakdale 12 years ago. Mr TOMPKINS was member of Jehovah’s Witnesses at Norfolk and Neligh and served as a clergyman. Survivors include is wife, sons, Mark of Oakdale, David of Lake City, Florida and Danny of St Augustine, daughter, Carolyn SELLERS of Marshall, North Carolina, sister, Estelle HADEN of Jacksonville, Florida, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and his first wife. Memorials are designated to the Mark Thompkins Fund, Box 97, Oakdale.

IRIS O. TOMPKINS

Services for Iris O. TOMPKINS, 62, of Tilden, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kingdom Hall in Neligh. William MONTANA will officiate and burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery. The body will lie in state Tuesday, 3-8 p.m. at Marshall-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden. She was born November 26, 1915 in Cabool, Missouri to Mr and Mrs Ira Wicks and died Sunday, April 17, 1977, at her home north of Tilden. She married Daniel P. TOMPKINS on March 17, 1933 in Live Oaks, Florida. She was a Jehovah’s Witness. She lived in St. Augustine, Florida for 30 years and lived in Tilden the last five years. Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Carolyn SELLERS of Missoula, Montana, three sons, Mark at home, Danny and David, both of St. Augustine, one sister, Catherine ERKE of St. Augustine and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

MARJORIE SMITH TOMPKINS

Memorial services were conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. at Kingdom Hall in Norfolk for Marjorie TOMPKINS, 76, Oakdale. Steven BELL officiated. The body is being cremated, with burial at a later date. Mrs TOMPKINS died Friday, January 28, 1994 at a Norfolk hospital. She was born November 17, 1917 in Ohio and had lived in Oakdale for some years. Surviving are two sons, David JOHNSON of Arlington Heights, Illinois, and Kenneth JOHNSON of Columbus, Ohio, 15 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, four step-children, Mark TOMPKINS of Oakdale, David TOMPKINS of Lake City, Florida, Danny TOMPKINS of St Augustine, Florida, and Carolyn SELLERS of Norfolk, and two brothers, Paul SMITH of Stigler, Oklahoma and Clark SMITH of New Philadelphia, Ohio.
