Emma L WARWICK

Abridged: Emma L RHOADES was born in Buchanan, OH, April 18, 1865 and died January 8, 1934 at her home in Oakdale. She was the second of five children born to Allen and Mary Ann RHOADES. On October 1870 she was married to Luther S WARWICK, who preceded her in death about a year and a half ago. She leaves to mourn her, a brother, Harvey RHOADES of California, and a sister, Mrs A. J. RAY of Edmonton, Canada. Six children, Ethyl SPRINGER and Bernard WARWICK of Oakdale, Pearle BASKETT of Neligh, Anna GAMRATH of Madison, WI, Fred of Sheffield, MT and Charles of Valentine, and Josephine who died when four years old. Eight granddaughters, Dorothy SPRINGER-LAMPE of Omaha, Eileen and Evelyn SPRINGER of Oakdale, Ruth Ann GAMRATH of Madison, WI, Eleanor, Virginia, Marjorie and Mary Ellen WARWICK of Valentine, and one grandson, Norman WARWICK of Valentine. The family lived in Missouri for three years and then Ohio. In 1886, they moved to western Iowa and lived seven years near Onawa. They came to Nebraska in 1903 locating near Meadow Grove. In 1913 they moved to Oakdale. She was united with the United Brethren Church. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Friday and burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery.

LUTHER SHELTON WARWICK

Abridged: Luther Shelton WARWICK was born in JACKSON, Ohio, July 11, 1851 and died August 4, 1932 at his home in Oakdale. He was the youngest child and last survivor of William S and Elizabeth GOODMAN WARWICK. His father died when he was two and his mother the following year. He was reared in the home of Mrs Edward ULM of Chillicothe, Ohio. On October 14, 1880 he was married to Miss Emma RHOADES. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, children, Ethyl SPRINGER and Bernard of Oakdale, Charles W of Valentine, NE, Pearle BASKETT of Neligh, Anna GAMRATH of Madison, WI, Fred of Miles City, MT and Josephine who died when four years of age. Eight granddaughters, Dorothy SPRINGER-LAMPE of Omaha, Eileen and Evelyn SPRINGER of Oakdale, Ruth Ann GAMRATH of Madison, WI, Eleanor, Virginia, Marjorie and Mary Ellen WARWICK of Valentine, and one grandson, Norman WARWICK, also of Valentine. Luther was a railroad worker and farmer in Illinois and Ohio before coming to Nebraska in 1893. He settled south of Meadow Grove and then moved to Oakdale. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church and interment was in the Oakdale Cemetery.
