LEONA BUCKMASTER WERNER

Funeral services for Leona WERNER, 72, of Oakdale, were held Saturday, April 24, at St Francis Catholic Church in Neligh. Rev. Harold BUSE officiated. Burial was at the Oakdale Cemetery with arrangements by Hoepfinger-Beyer Funeral Home of Neligh. Pallbearers were Bruce WERNER, Steve WERNER, Steve HARRIS, Scott HUGHES, Jim LYONS, and Steve CORNETT. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons. Leona BUCKMASTER, daughter of George and Jenny BLACK BUCKMASTER, was born February 19, 1921, at Oakdale. She graduated from Oakdale High School and on November 23, 1943, married Louis WERNER at Raeville. They farmed west of Neligh until moving into Oakdale nine years ago. She was a member of St. Francis Church, the Rosary Sodality and the Town and Country Club of Oakdale. Mrs. WERNER died Wednesday, April 21, 1993. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, three brothers and a granddaughter. Survivors include her husband, three sons, Richard of Neligh, Raymond of Oakdale and Ralph of Wymore, five daughters, Joyce SCHMID of Columbus, Dorothy ORMESHER of North Platte, Alice BATHKE of Wakefield, Rose SHAIN of Stanton and Phyllis SANDERSON of Oakdale, a brother, George BUCKMASTER of Seward, a sister, Inez DRAKE of Sioux City, IA, 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

LOUIS J WERNER

Funeral services for Louis J.WERNER, 82, of Oakdale, were held Friday. Feb. 10 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Neligh. Fr Frank BAUMERT officiated. Burial was at the Oakdale Cemetery with arrangements by Hoepfinger-Beyer Funeral Home of Neligh. Pallbearers were John WERNER,Ted HUGHES, Joe PETSCHE, Jim LYONS. Clayton DOZLER and Bruce WERNER. Grandsons served as honorary pallbearers. Louis J WERNER, son of John J.and Clara REICHE WERNER, was born March 15, 1912, at Raeville. He lived most of his life in Boone and Antelope Counties. On November 23, 1943, he married Leona J BUCKMASTER at St.Bonaventure Church in Raeville. Mr. WERNER farmed northwest of Neligh for more than 20 years, retiring to Oakdale in 1984. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Neligh and a member of the Oakdale Town and Country Club. Mr. WERNER died Tuesday, Feb.7, 1995 at Antelope Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1993, a son Donald in 1951, a granddaughter and two sisters. Survivors include five daughters, Joyce SCHMID of Columbus, Dorothy ORMESHER of North Platte, Alice BATHKE of Wakefield, Rose SHAIN of Stanton and Phyllis SANDERSON of Oakdale; three sons Ralph WERNER of Wymore, Raymond WERNER of Oakdale and Rick WERNER of Neligh; 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a brother, Hugo WERNER of Petersburg, and two sisters, Martha ZAMATALIA of Alabama and Charlotte SCHANDEL of Omaha.
