ELMIRA BROWN WHITMORE

Abridged: Funeral services for Mrs Elmira WHITMORE were conducted in the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon, January 24, and burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery. Elmira BROWN was born in the State of Pennsylvania, near Elmira, New York, January 31, 1852. In the year 1864 she moved with her parents to Michigan. She was united in marriage to M. M. WHITMORE May 3, 1873. In 1881 Mr WHITMORE came to Nebraska and purchased a farm near Oakdale. The family came in 1882. Five children were born to this union, D. C., Floyd, Nettie, Ralph and Roland. After the death of Mr WHITMORE in 1930, she made her home with her daughter until she passed away on January 19, 1937. D. C. and Floyd preceded her in death. Three children survive; Mrs J. C. HOLMES of Lincoln, Ralph B WHITMORE of Lodgepole and Roland M WHITMORE of Ewing, 16 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs Minnie THORP of Washington, KS and Mrs Amanda WHITMORE of Owasso, Michigan.
