Obituary-The Oakdale Sentinel-March 24, 1922

MARY JANE RODGERS WRIGHT

Mary Jane WRIGHT was born in Coles County, Illinois, March 4, 1841 and died on March 20, 1922, being 81 years and 16 days. She was married to James WRIGHT of Coles County in 1859. To them were born sixteen children, of which number four sons and two daughters are living. Besides there survives twenty-eight grandchildren and thirty-five great grandchildren. The deceased United with the Methodist Church in 1891 and later moving to Iowa, located in a community where there was only a United Brethren Church and became a member of the same. All her life she had been a consistent follower of the Christ. A few weeks ago she came for a visit with her daughter, Mrs W. A. PROCUNIER, and was taken sick. The heart failing to respond to medical and she passed away after a few days confinement to her bed. Funeral services were held yesterday, March 23, in the Methodist Church of Oakdale, conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. B. SMALL of the U. B. Church making the address. The body reposes in the beautiful Oakdale Cemetery. The family extends sincere thanks to all who gave aid and sympathy during the illness and burial of their mother.
