C.J. Swanson returned from Lincoln where he and other Burt Co. republicans had been promoting W.G. Sears for speakership.

Peter Palmer left last of week for Orion, Ill., where he will visit parents and old friends and do some work for Oberg & Anderson's patent railway grain loader.

Miss Hulda Samuelson returned from a trip down the road.

Alfred Osrand and wife coming back from visit at Lincoln.

Harry Anderson is back from a trip to Lincoln where he attended the wedding of his brother Edwin to a young lady of Ceresco.

Peter Johnson died Dec. 25, 1900, age 50 years, 11 months, 18 days. Resident of Argo past 10 years, formerly living in SLC, Utah. Member of two orders. Leaves wife, 8 children, an aged father and mother, two brothers and one sister. Married 23 years ago to Miss Selma Astill of Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral at Mission church by Rev. McNeil of Oakland. Remains taken to Mission cemetery. Resolution signed by members of Camp No. 150, W.O.W. Argo. S. Johnson Jr., W. Anderson.

George Wallerstedt, youngest son of L.A. Wallerstedt, who has been absent for six years in the Cripple Creek, Colo., mining district, surprised his father and friends the last of the week by dropping in on them for a brief visit. George has been married since he left here and owning to his wife's poor health is living at Omaha temporarily.

Miss Carrie Anderson visited her brother A.M. and family in Tekamah.

Mrs. M. Swanson returned home from Omaha after spending a week with her daughter, Mrs. King and son Sidney.

Harry Anderson went to Omaha with C.H. Hedberg of Minden, who has been here a few days.

B.C. Harding on business in Omaha.

Miss Minnie Swanson returned from Omaha visit.

G.A. Johnson from Oakland, participating in inter-state debate. Attended at Lincoln Normal for 2 years. At university 3 years. Mr. Johnson is member of Palladian Debating club.

Samuel Ostrand, an old, respected citizen of this county, died at his home south of Oakland, Wednesday at 2 pm aged 82 years. Native of Sweden and came to Illinois in 1872, removing to Burt Co. ten years later. For three years he has been in poor health. Leaves a wife, and daughter Mrs. C.J. Wallerstedt, and sons Alfred, Andrew, John and Gust. Funeral services will be held at the Lutheran church today.

Aug. Gabrielson arrived from Kackley, Kan., to be present at wedding of his brother Charles and Miss Johnson this week.

Emanuel and Nels Morell and Chas. Anderson drove to West Point Wed. where they met Oliver Morell of Long Pine, and brought him over for a 2 weeks vacation.

Miss Mary Anderson returned home from her visit at Wausa.

The parties, all being members of Lutheran church. Bridal marched played by Miss Alida Peterson. Misses Lontina Johnson and Ellen Engdahl were brides maids. Messers. Adolph Johnson and August Gabrielson were grooms men. Mr. Gabrielson will head for Kansas Home. Mr. Engdahl settlind down in town. Carl Anderson of the Wausa Gazette spent night here on his return from Omaha.

Attorney C.F. Lindberg and wife take up residence in the Mrs. C. Anderson home in the SE part of town.

E.W. Harding spent week at Nebraska City as delegate to state meeting of Ancient Order of United Workmen.

A.C. Trimborn and C.J. Swanson were Omaha visitors.

Miss Lydia Anderson says there will be a box social at the school house of District 64 on May 24th.

A.M. Anderson of Tekamah looked at land in Boyd Co. Too expensive.

Jonas M. Johnson returned from a short trip in northern part of state.

Frank Gustafson up in Dixon Co. on busines with cream seperators.

Miss Marie Swanson called to Pender to nurse a case of pneumonia for Dr. Long of that place.

Joe Blenkiron of Soux City and Mr/Mrs. Len Blenkiron of Randolph guests of C.J. Swanson.

Mr./Mrs. L. Chapin, of Salt Lake City visited with his uncle W.A. Harding, while enroute to New York City where he goes as private secretary to mr. Hill, the smelter trust magnate.

E.W. Harding returned home from Nebraska City, as delegate to state meeting of the A.O.U.W. lodge, representing Oakland Lodge 77.

Mrs. N. Olander and Miss Ida Johnson returned from a visit at Omaha.

Alfred Ostrand and wife left Tuesday for Salina, Kansas where they will visit Mrs. Ostrand's relatives a few days.

Ernest Anderson, hired man of August Anderson, south of Oakland, had a bad accident while crossing a bridge on a small creek on that farm last Wednesday. Whle crossing with three horses and a plow the bridge gave way and they were badly tangled up in the mud and water and it took till late in the night to strighten the tangle out, but everything escaped serious injury.

O.H. Anderson closed a very successful term of school and also completed a year's school work in district 42 (Miller district) with picnic an dprogram. He is a very thorough school man, who puts his full energy into his work and accomplishes good resuts.

Mrs. E.J. King came up from Omaha to visit her parents, Mr./Mrs. M. Swanson.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Johnson returned hom to Malmo, to-day, after spending some time visiting at the home of Gust. Anderson, three miles south of town.

Miss Blanche Blenkiron returned from her stay at Los Angeles, Cal., the latter part of last week and stopped off with her sister, Mrs. C.J. Swanson, before going home to Wausa.

Sunday School class and a few other friends of Mrs. S.A. Lundstrom prepared her a pleasant surprise. The class thinks highly of Mrs. Lundstrom, as she does of them.
