Harlan County, Nebraska - 1935 Republican River Flood

I have one first-hand story from Bernice Haskins Post that was given to me by her family in October 1998. The story itself was written in 1936, just 14 months after the devastating flood. The story covers their farm located just south of Naponee, Franklin County, Nebraska, but will give you a feel for what everyone in the Republican River Valley went through during the flood of June 1, 1935.
