Landis Rice and Juniata Daily visited Sunday in Wilcox where they were guests of Landis’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rice, jr. In the afternoon they all drove to Ragan where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Golter.  Mrs. Golter is a sister of Miss Rice.

Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Binderup and family spent part of the weekend here with relatives.  Larry spent some of the time in Grand Island trying to get parts for his car.  Saturday, Mrs. Binderup spent in Kearney with friends, shopping being the purpose of the trip. 

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Favinger entertained the following friends Thursday evening:  Mr. and Mrs. Lemoine Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Hosier and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Christensen.  Monopoly was the entertainment of the evening followed by the serving of a delicious lunch.

Mrs. R. V. Petersen and daughter, Nancy Vaughn of Billings, Montana, are house guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Rasmussen.  Mrs. Petersen is looking for her husband, home in a month or so. He has been overseas in the South Pacific area 22 months.  Mr. Petersen is Mrs. Rasmussen’s brother.

Saturday afternoon, Juniata Daily and Landis Rice visited in Hastings with Stanley Daily family. Little Martha June Daily accompanied them home for an over night visit with her grandparents, Sheriff and Mrs. Owen Daily.  Sunday, they took her home and enjoyed a short visit in Hastings.  Stanley is a member of the Hastings police force.

Mrs. John Jensen of Upland was taken ill last Tuesday.  She was taken to Riverton Wednesday to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Otto Scharff, who is caring for her.  Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hansen and family were in Riverton Sunday to visit with her mother, Mrs. Jensen, and found her somewhat improved.  Mrs. Arthur Ellsworth is also a daughter of Mrs. Jensen.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Slack and daughter and his mother, Mrs. Joe Conover of San Diego, Calif., were called to Lexington by the sudden death of Mrs. Mattie Havens, mother of Mrs. Conover.  They arrived Saturday. Services for Mrs. Havens were held Sunday at Lexington with interment in Minden cemetery.  Ray and his family and his mother were visiting here Monday.  Ray plans to stay in Minden and his mother will visit here for a time.
