Minden resident, 90

Minden - Velma C. Landstrom, 90 of Minden died Sunday July 27, 2003 at Kearney County Health Services Long Term Care Unit in Minden.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Minden United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Bill Hunter officiating. Burial will be at Minden Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at Layton Funeral Home in Minden.
She was born Sept. 22, 1912 on a farm northeast of Minden to Peter and Ruth (Maucher) Christensen.
She graduated from Minden High School in 1931.
She attended Kearney State Teacher’s College for a year and then taught school for three years.
On Aug. 10, 1937 she married Paul Landstrom in California. They lived in California for 20 years before moving to Holdrege.
In 1960, they returned to California.
Her husband died in 1983. She moved to Minden.
In 1998, she became a resident at Bethany Home in Minden.
She was a member of the church in Minden.
Survivors include her brother, Edwin Christensen of Minden; and sisters Dorothy Taylor of Northglenn, Colo. and Hazel Jepsen of Minden.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.
