Ocean County NJ GenWeb

Index of Ocean County Cemeteries

This is not a comprehensive list, I know that there are some missing. Some of the links do not contain ALL of the burials in that particular cemetery and not all of those listed have been transcribed. Latitude and Longitude, Addresses, phone numbers and web sites are provided where known. Also note that some links are to material in the OCGW Archives.

The Ocean County Historical Society also maintains a database of all known burials in Ocean County, some of which have been photographed. See their web site for more information.

If you have any additional information or contributions for or about this page please contact the coordinator.

Many thanks to Joan Brown, Sean Flannery, Theodore R. Page and Beth Cranmer, among others for their contributions, as well as the prior county coordinator, Stephanie Faycik, who we would love to have return.

Old Waretown Presbyterian Cemetery
AKA Union, Between Route 9 and the Old Main Shore Road (Main St.) Railroad Avenue (small). It included a small church until the 1930's. There are over 250 readable headstones there. Some stones are so very old that all traces of lettering are gone forever while some others are beautiful monuments. They tell the story that in these hallowed grounds are buried men who were lost in the wars and epidemics in the early days. There are memorials to men lost at sea and, by information from books, we know also that many mariners who lost their lives in shipwrecks off our Coast, are interred here.
