Indiana KENNEDY

submitted by Yolanda Campbell Lifter

A cloud is over the Kennedy home, the sun seems to have lost its brightness, for the sunshine-maker "the Mother" has taken her departure, and gone to her heavenly home, where there is always brightness, no pain or sorrow there.

Indina Honaker, daughter of John and Julia Honaker, of Virginia, was born near Mt. Orab, Ohio, April 26, 1848, and died April 24, 1918 and had she lived two more days she would have reached three score and ten. She united with the United Brethren church, at Union Plains, Green township, this county, near where she was born. On October 16, 1869 she was united in marriage with Robert Kennedy. To this union were born eight children, six of whom survive her. John, Mrs. Geo. Pangburn, Samuel, Charles, Mrs. Walter Dwelly and Mrs. Herbert Stevenson. Willie and Dallas having preceeded their mother to that great beyond.

For two years she has been confined to her home almost constantly and her greatest pleasure was to have her children near her, as she seemed to realize that the end was near; and when a letter was received from her son John, saying he would be home next Sunday to see her, she replied "that will be too late" and like answer was given when her daughter told her she would prepare her 70th birthday dinner. She was conscious until the last, and more than once was heard to say to her grandson, Albert, (who made his home with grandma and grandpa.) stick to grandpa Albert, he needs you now. Everything was done to restore our dear one to health again, but to no avail. God knew best and called her home.

She leaves to mourn her departure, husband, six children, fifteen grandchildren, three sisters, three brothers and a host of other relatives and friends.

We miss thee from our home death mother,
We miss thee from thy place,
A shadow o'er our home is cast,
We miss the sunshine of they face.
