Mrs. Julia Belle Thomas Passes Away at Family Home Near Higginsport, Friday
Mrs. Julie Belle Thomas passed away at the family home near Higginsport, Friday, she being at the time of her death aged 59 years, 10 months and 18 days. She was the wife of Mr. Julius Thomas, and one of the well known and beloved women of the southwestern portion of the county. She was the daughter of Samuel and Amanda Waterfield. She was married April 9, 1879, and to this union were born five children, four of whom are living. They are Mrs. Jessie White, Mrs. Nellie Loudon, Mrs. Amy Dillman and Charles E. Thomas. Those, with the father and nine grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends, mourn her departure. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.A. Warner at the family home Sunday, in the presence of a large concourse of people, after which the body was laid to rest in Shinkle Ridge cemetery.
