Info for First Family/Pioneer Family Applications

First Families are families that can prove settlers 1805-December 31, 1830.
Pioneer Families are families that can prove settlers January 1, 1831-December 31, 1860

What do you need to do?
Starting with yourself, fill out family charts for each generation.
You will need documentation of each birth, marriage and death.
Have some don't knows?  You will need to find those documents.  That's what makes it fun!

Supporting documents include:  census records, Bible records, tax records, voter records, deeds, Probate records.
These will point you in the right direction, and in some cases, the only documents you will be able to find.

Have you filled in all the blanks?

You must be a member of Champaign County Genealogical Society.  Want to join?
