Donald Whittington Donald L. "Abe" Whittington, 77, Baltimore, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at his residence. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ; retired from the former Crown-Zellerbach Corp.; was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Battle of the Bulge; and was a member of Baltimore VFW No. 3761. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Marsha Whittington of Baltimore; granddaughter and husband, Stacie Faun and Mark Graves of Columbus; grandson and wife, Chad R. and Tara Whittington of Sacramento, Calif.; several great-grandchildren; brother, John Whittington of Hebron; sister and brother-in-law, Donna Jean and Harley Bowers of Lancaster; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Faun Whittington in 1999; and sister, Joann Armstrong. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Baltimore, with the Rev. Jill Dunlap officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery with graveside military services conducted by Baltimore VFW. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Fairfield County in Donald's memory.
