"Catherine Britt K. Lawless was born at a little place called Aba-Vale 25 miles from Dublin, and near New Castle, County Wicklow near the sea in Ireland. Maiden name was Kate Britt. Her mother's maiden name was Mary Ann Fox. Her father was William
Britt.
Mother's grandmother's maiden name was Gragon. Her family
consisted of 6 children, 4 girls and 2 boys.
Jim was the first child, Mary Ann (oldest),Margaret,Mother was
4th.,Jane, Arthur was youngest.
They came to this country in 1848.
Mother's father died in Ireland at the age of 35 of consumption.
Mother, her mother and brothers and sisters came to
this country in 1848.
Mother's mother died in 1852 of dropsy and is buried at Pine Grove Furnace. Mother's youngest brother ran off to Pikes Peak, Colorado and was never heard from again. Went to dig gold.
Mother died of pneumonia in Vanceburg, Ky. on Maple Terrace
Stock Farm in 1917. Buried in Woodland Cemetary, Ironton, Ohio.
