State of South Carolina Sumter District }

This indenture made the fifeteenth day of Decemberin tthe year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirtysixbetween William D. Wise, John Wise, Jemimah Richbourg, and Mary Wiseof Clarendon County in the state and District aforesaid. of the onepart and Joseph Sprott of Clarendon County in the state and Districtaforesaid of the other part witnessed. That the said Willima D. Wise,John Wise, Jemima Richbourg, and Mary Wise for and in considerationof the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to them the said WilliamD. Wise, John Wise, Jemima Richbourg, and Mary Wise in hand well andtruly paid the receipt whereof is hereby asknowledged hath granted,bargained, and sold, and by these present doth grant bargian and sellunto the siad Joseph his heirs and assigns all that plantation orTract of Land containing three hundred acres situated in the Districtof Sumter, Clarendon county on the East side of Taw Caw swamp, watersof Santee River, Bounded by lines running NW on William Humphry'sland, SE and SW on Captain James Davis' land and NE unknown and alsoall trees, woods, underwoods, ways ,water courses, profits,commodities, advantares hereditaments, appurtenances, whatsover tothe messuages of above mentioned belonging or in any way appertainingand the reversion remainder and remainders; rents, issues, andprofits of the said premises and every part and parecel thereof andall the estate, right, title, interest, claim. and demand whatsoeverof them the said William D. Wise, John Wise, Jemima Richbourg, andMary Wise of us and to the said messuages etc and premises and everypart thereof . To have and to hold the said messuages etc and all andsingular other the premises above mentined and every part and parecelthereof with the apperentances unto the siad Joseph Sprott his heirsand assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said JosephSprott his heirs and assigns forever and the William D. Wise, JohnWise, Jemima Richbourg, and Mary Wise for theirselves an their heirsthe saidmessuages etc and premises and every part thereof againstthem andtheir heirs and against all and every other person andpersons whatsoever to the said Joseph Sprott his heirs and assignsshall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. Witnessour hands and seals this fifteenth day of December in the year of ourLord eighteen hundred thritysix and in athe sovereighty of the UnitedStates of America the sixtieth year.
