In the Name of God, Amen, I, Richard Hainsworth of Cravin County, being of a perfect mind and memory, but weakness of body doth make this as my last Will and testament committing my Body to the Glorious Power of Almighty, hoping that at my departure of this uncertain State of Life, to join in everlasting Glory through Jesus our Lord with whose blessing I committ my body to the ground and my Soul to the Lord of Life.

Unto my son John Haynsworth, a tract of land containing 300.50 Acres out of which said tract it is my desire that to his brother Henry shall be given one hundred.  Also, two sorrel mares Branded RH, two cows branded RH markt thus with a Swallow fork in the right year and under heel, also a cross in the left.  Also, any horse, mare or colt, cow or calf or steer having the brand of a Roman Pare?, his property. Also, all that is of this mark is his, with a Swallow fork and an under Heel in the right ears and in the left an over slope? and an under hapeny? Also, one feather bed, 1 pair of blanketts, all the hogs that is of the same mark of the cattle, also.

To my son, Henery, one bay mare branded RH with a mare colting branded with a single R which is his own brand.  All the cattle that is markt with a Swallow and an under Heel in the right ear. A half crop taking of the upper side and Brand with a single R all of that mark and Brand is his property and all the hogs that is of the mark of his Cattle is his also.

To my Daughters, Margaret and Mary, all Horses and mares that is Branded EH in one is theirs.  Also, all the cattle that is of that Brand is their property and marked with a Swallow and an under Heel in the right ear, in the left a half crop taking out of the underside.  Each of them a featherbed and all the hogs of that mark to be their property and all to be all Equally divided between them two.

To my son James Haynsworth this plantation on which I now live upon, also a sorrel mare two years old blackface,  branded with RH, two heifer calfs with a Swallow fork in the right and under Heel in the left, a crop and two slits, a two year old heifer, all white, but the head that is all black.  Also, it is my desire that his Mother shall have her life on the Plantation.

To Elizabeth Haynsworth, one young mare to be Branded of next spring, two cows and calve to be Branded for her next Spring and one yearling she has now.

I desire to my child not yet born, may be given to it four calves IF it lives.

It is my desire that if he or she should die that their shares to be Equally Divided among all the rest.

I desire that none of these legacies shall be sold but as they come of age that they may draw of their shares to themselves.

To my true and loving Elizabeth Haynsworth, whose maiden name was Elizabeth Hesse, to whom may be hers, all the mares and horse kind with cattle, hogs, with one feather bed which she now sleeps upon, and furniture; also a Negro man called Buck and a pieCe of land at Edisto containing fifty acres, the right in her Name, with Pots and Pewter, and all my household stuf-it may be her property and at her decease may be equally divided among all the rest of my children and with whom I sign this as my last Will Desiring that these persons mentioned as Executors.
