ISAAC BAGNAL

 

In The Name of God Amen". I, Isaac Bagnal ofClarendon County and State of South Carolina Sumter District beingVery sick and weak in body but of perfect Mind and Memory Thanks begiven unto God, Therefore Calling to Mind the Mortality of My bodyand Knowing, That it is Appointed for all Men once to die, do makeand ordain This my last Will and Testament. That is to sayPrincipally and first of all, I give and Recommend My soul unto thehands of the Almighty God who gave it and My body I Recommend to TheEarth to be buried in a Decent Christian Manner, at the Direction ofMy Executors, hereafter mentioned. Nothing doubting but at theGeneral Resurrection I shall receive The Same again by the Mightypower of God, and, touching such worldly Estate which it hath pleasedGod to blefs me with in this life. I give and demise and dispose inthe following manner and Form &endash; First it is My will and Desirethat all My just debts be first paid out of My Estate.

 

Item. &endash; I give and bequeath unto MyNephewÖIsaac Bagnal, Jun. the son of my brother, John Bagnal,the Following property Six Negroes Nam'd as following &endash; Biah,Esick, Cuff, Dick, Dolly and Lucy and all their future Increase withall my Lands, My House, Household and Kitchen, Furniture, Plantationtools, Wagon, Cotton, Gin and Six Cows and Calves, the pick of mystock. The Cows and Calves be for the Entire use of the Negroes onthe Plantation with as much of my corn as will serve Them one yearafter My Decease, but be it understood, That the above named propertyis not to be given up to the Above named Isaac Bagnal untill he isTwenty one years of age, to him and his Heirs forever &endash;

 

Item. &endash; I give and bequeath to My GrandNephewÖIsaac Brogdon one Negro boy named London, to him and hisHeirs for Ever &endash;

 

Item. &endash; I give and bequeath to My GrandNephew, Josiah Isaac McGomer one Negro Fellow Nam'd Minus, to him andhis Heirs for Ever &endash;

 

It is My will and desire that the Remaining partof My Stock of cattle, horses, hogs, my crop of Cotton and theRemaining part of My Corn be sold and Divided share and share alikebetween My Two Deceas'd Sisters Children, Rebecca, Martin & NancyRaffield and My living Sisters Children Mary Tobias, to them andTheir Heirs &endash;

 

Lastly, I Nominate and Appoint Wm. Plowden, SamuelE. Nelson and Isaac Bagnal, Executors to this my Will and Testament. In witnefs whereof I have set My hand and seal this Ninth Day ofOctober, Anno Domini, 1819.
