IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN-

I Agness Barber of Watree Creek, Cambden District,Craven County & St.Mark's Parish, being of perfect Mind &Memory, buy very low in health calling to mind, that it was Appointedonce for all Men to Die, & after Death to Come to Judgment, Iresign my Soul to Almighty God, believing that he will raise it tothe Judgment of the Last Days, and my body to be Decently Interred atthe Discretion of my Executors, Such worldly Goods as the Lord waspleased to bestow on me, I give in manner and form following, VIZ.First of all, I give and Bequeath to John Barber one cow, to JohnConnery, I give and Bequeath one Cow, One Grey Colt two years Oldpast, Named Whitefoot, & a mans's saddle & bridle, to be keptfor the use of my Three Children, Namely, Robert, James, andBethridge. To Bethridge Barber I give my feather bed & bedClothes, all my wearing Apparel & my Spinning Wheel. Theremaining part of all my worldly Goods and Chattels of what kindsoever to be equally Divided among my three Children, Namely, Robert,James and Bethridge Barber. After bestowing my Effects in mannerand form before Mentioned. I appoint John Barber and John Connery ofWatree Creek, Cambden District, Craven County, and St. Mark's Parish,for my whole and Sole Executors, This being my last will andtestament. Renouncing and Revoking all other Wills and Testamentsbefore made by me. Given under my hand and Seal this Eight Day ofOctober, Anno Domini, one thousand seven hundred and Eighty Four. Interlined before signed between the fifth & sixth lines, for the use & a man's saddle and bridle.
