WILL OF RODGER BRADLEY

 

In the name of God Amen

I Rodger Bradley of Salem County Sumpter districtbeing Sick and weak in body but of Sound and disposing mind, Memoryand understanding praised be, God for the Same, do make this my lastwill and Testament in manner following (that is to say) I recommendmy Soul to God who gave it, my Body to the dust to be Bury d in adecent christain manner at the discretion of my Extrs. Item I giveand bequeath to my Beloved Wife Martha Bradley one third part of myLands during her lifetime to be at her choise out of what part shemay cheese. Item I give and bequeath to my three Sons John, Albert,and David Bradley and their heirs forever the remaining two thirds ofmy Lands to be divided by appeasement equally amongst them Except..as my wife is now pregnant Should She be deliverd of a Son then it ismy will and desire that he should have an equal share of my landswith my three aforesaid mentioned sons And at the death of my wife itis my will and desire that the third part of Land left to her Shallbe divided in the Same manner as the other two thirds and it isfurther my will and desire that if one or more of my Sons die beforethey come of age or received their part that the suvivers shall havethe deceaseds part or parts Item it is my will and desire that afterpaying my just debts and Funeral expence that my personal Estate beequally divided share and Share alike between my wife Martha Bradleyand children as they come of age or marry Viz. John Bradley, AlbertBradley David Bradley, Theadocia Bradley, Martha Bradley, ElisaBradley, Mary Jane Bradley, Sarah James Bradley, and the Child thatmy wife is now pregnant with Except reserving as much out of my Sonsparts of my personal Estate as will make my daughters Share equal towhat their parts would have been of my real Estate had they receivedtheir Share of it and further it is my will and desire that when apart is given of the remainder to be Kept together untill anothercomes of age or marries and So on till the youngest comes of age ormarries Lastley I do hereby nominate Constitute, and Appoint ArthurBradley Dr Samuel Mays John Perry Esqr. John Bradley and AlbertBradley Estrs. of my last will and Testament hereby revoking andmaking Void all and every other will or wills hereto fore by me madeand do declare this to be my last Will and Testament. in Witnefawhereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the twenty Seventh dayof Dec.r. in the 18th year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and FiveSigned, Sealed declared, and published by the above named RodgerBradley as and for his last will and Testament, in the presents of uswho at his request and in his presence have Subscribed our names aswitnefs thereto.
