State of South Carolina Sumter District-

in the name of God Amen--Know all men by thispresents that I Thomas Chandler of the State & Districtaforesaid being sick & low in health, but of sound mind &memory; do make constitute & appoint this to be my last will& Testament.& first of all I recommend my Soul to God whogave it then I recommend my body to the dust from whence itoriginated, to be decently intered, at the discretion of my Executorshereafter named....Item lst I give unto my beloved wife Jane Chandlerone Negroe man Isaac & one Girl Hariot, also the Tract of Landwhereon I now live, together with all my Stock of all kinds, myplantation tools, & all my Household & kitchen furnituredureing her natural life, my will & desire is that at the deathof my wife the Land as above mentioned to belong to my son Charles P.Chandler. & the negroes above named Isaac & Heriot with allthe Stock Household & kitchen furniture & Plantation toolsto be Equally divided amongst my children Thos. Chandler, ElizabethChandler & Charles P. Chandler, item I give unto my sonThomas Chandler one negroe boy named Jeffry, item unto my daughterElizabeth Chandler one negroe woman named Sarah, item I give unto myson Charles P. Chandler, one negroe man named Bob. And my will anddesire is that my wife Jane Chandler have one half of my present Growing Crop and the balance after paying my just debts to be Equallydivided among my Children as named above. And I do hereby appoint myson Charles P. Chandler to be my whole & sole Exector, herebyrenouncing & revoking all wills heretofore made or signed by me,Acknowledgeing this to be my last Will & Testament, signed withmy hand & Seal this 3rd day of July one thousand Eight Hundred& Eighteen.........
