I, Lidia Christmas of Sumter County and State ofSouth Carolina calling to mind the uncertainty of life and thecertainty of death do make this my last will and testament----1st- Icommend my Soul to God that gave it and my body to be buried in adecent Christian manner&emdash;and as to my worldly goods do I makethe following distribution&emdash;Item 1st I give unto my niece LidiaCopland my bed and furniture my trunk and one heifer yearlin &endash;Item 2nd I give unto my niece Louisa Daniels the young cow beastrunning at Hopkins Daniels &endash; Item 3rd I give unto my SisterMary Daniels one Seventy dollars, and one half of my wearing apparel&endash; Item 4th I give unto my sister Mary Copland the other halfof my wearing apparel and also all the residue of my Estate afterpaying my Just debts &endash; 5th & last I nominate and appointmy friend Alfred Scarborough Executor to this my last will&testament ----- In Witnefs I hereunto Set my hand & Sealthis 19th day of November A.D. 1839)
