York District ) In the name of God Amen, IJohn W. Faris of the State and District aforesaid, being weak toboddy, but of sound, and disposing mind and understanding, andknowing that all men have to die, do make and constitute thefollowing, my last Will and Davise; hereby revoking all others; inthe first place I command my soul to God who gave it, and direct that my Boddy be Buried in a decent and christian like manner; in thesecond place Viz I direct all my lawfull debts be paid that isrendered in duly attested; the ballence shall be put to Interest bymy lawfull Executor the Interest whereof to go to the support of myhonor,d Mother during her natureal life, and after her death itshall be appropriated in the following manner, Viz; to my belovedSister Nancy Sloane; I give and bequeath two hundrd dollars to mysister Sarah Hill I give and bequeath one hundred and sixty dollars;to my sister Peggy Downing I give and bequeath the sum of twentyfive dollars; to my sister Jane Brown I give and bequeath the sum of Fifty dollars; to my Brother samuel Faris, I give and bequeath thesum of fifteen dollars; my plantation with all its appurtenancestogether with all the balance of Cash, after the above legacies arepaid, I give and bequeath unto my Brother William Faris; and afterhis death to his son John Faris; to be vested in him and the heirsof his Boddy Forever; Lastly and I do further constitute and ordainFrancia Spring Esquire my sole Executor for to Execute this my lastWill and testament as above directed: Given under my hand and sealthis twenty fourth Day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirteen an in the thrty seventh year of theAmerican Independence:
