WILL OF WILLIAM GRANT

 

South Carolina -

I, William Grant of Georgetown in theState aforesaid, do make my last will and testament in mannerfollowing, that is to say: - I give and bequeath to my beloved andaffectionate wife Eleanor Grant, all the Estate which I shall diepofsefed of or entitled unto, whether it be real or personal, solong as she shall remain my widow, Charging her with the maintenanceand education of our Children, in the best manner my estate will enable her to do it - And that she may be the better enabled tofulfil the Charge hereby entrusted to her, I give to her, for thepurpose aforesaid, the same absolutely power to dispose of all orany part of my said Estate, real or personal, as I myself, now haveand to make and execute all necefsary titles for the same - Shouldmy said wife marry again, it is my will, that, so soon as such anevent shall take place, all my estate that then remains shall beequally divided between my said wife and such Children as may be then living, To be held by them and each of them their heirs,executors, administrators and afsigns - But in Case my Wife shouldnot marry again or any one or more of our Children should attain theage of twenty one years before she shall marry - Then and in thatevent, I direct that my said wife shall have full power to deliver to the Child or Children so attaining the age of twenty one years, hisor her equal share of my Estate - Should my said wife Conceive itbeneficial for herself and our Children to purchase other propertywith the proceeds of any property she may sell, I hereby authoriseher to do so and again to sell the same should she find it necefsaryor advantageous - I appoint my said Wife Executrix of this which I declare to be my last will and testament, hereby revoking all otherwills by me made - In witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my handand Seal this twenty fifth day of May in the year of our Lord onethousand eight hundred and twelve -
