Will of Peter Haley

 

In the Name of God Amen

I Peter Haley of Clarendon County and State ofSouth Carolina planter being Very Sick and Weak in body but ofperfect mind and memory, thanks be given Unto God, Therefore Calling,to mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing, that it is appointedfor all men once to Die do make and ordain this my last will andTestament, that is to say princapally and first of all I Give andRecommend, my Soul into the hands of Almighty God Who Gave it and mybody, I recommend to the Earth to be burried, in a decent ChristianBurrial at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter Named, nothingDoubting, but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the Sameagain, by the mighty power of God-and-Touching Such Worldly EstateWherewith it hath Pleased God to blefs Me with in this life, I givedemise, and dispose of the same in the following Manner andform.

Imprimis I give and Bequeath to my beloved wifeMary Haley, the use of my property both Real and Personal, During theTime She Remains my Widow And no longer, for the use and Support ofher and My beloved Children, and at her Death or Marriage Which mayfirst happen, I give and bequeath the Whole of My property as aboveMentioned, to my Beloved Children, Easter Haley, Mary Haley, &Peter Timothy Ridgway Haley, to be delivered to them at the age oftwenty one or on the Day of their Marriage to be Equally Devidedbetween them Share and Share Alike, but if either of them Shall dieunder twenty. One Years of age and Without having living Ifsue of hisor her body lawfully begotten, there Share or Part of my Estate is toReturn to my Surviving Children, Share and Share alike and if all ofmy Said Children Shall Die Without leaving living Ifsue of his her ortheir body lawfully begotten, then in that Case I give and bequeaththe whole of the property both Real and Personal to the lawfullbegotten Ifsue of my Brotherinlaw Edmond Windam and his Wife MaryWindam, to be Equally Devided Between them Share and Share alike tothem and their heirs forever-

Lastly I nominate and appoint. my Wife Mary HaleyExecutrix and my Friend Edward Windam Executor To this my last willand Testament, and Guardian and Trustees for my Said Children-
