I Joseph High do State and District aforesaidbeing sound in memory, and in my right mind, and of a disposing mind,do make this my last will and devise. I will and devise, that mythreeNegroes, Jinny and her two daughters Susannah and Sylva go intothe service of George Tilant senr. and ther to continue until thesaid George Tilant decease, or they attain to age of eighteen,atwhich time the mother Jinny and daughters Sylva and Susannah are tobe free, and no longer to be considered slaves but to enjoy all therights and previleges in law provided for such people so set free inthis State, and it is my exprefs direction that my executors look tothe before mentioned three negroes, and not suffer them to be removedfrom this neighborhood, of the Swift - Creek and Raften-Creeks; andthat they be not cruelly used and that the benefits arising fromtheir labor go to tho special benefit and behoof of the said George,and that he have the direction of their labor during the time abovementioned. I will and devise that my other two negroes RosandPlenty, with all my other property goods and chatels be sold to thehighest bider at publick sale on a twelve month's credit, and themonies arising from said sale to be kept in store until sylva andsusannah shall have obtained to the years of twenty one year ormarriage respectively, and then the said monies to be equally dividedbetween them share and share but if either of Jinny, Sylva orsusannah should die, before the time of their being of age to demandtheir part,then the part so divided shall go to the survivor orsurvivors - Lastly I appoint my worthy friendsBunwell Fort and DavisCollins Executors of this my last will and testament.
