WILL OF ELIJAH JOHNSON

In the name of God, Amen, I, Elijah Johnson, beingvery weak of body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be to Godfor it, but calling to mind the mortality of my body and that it isappointed for all men once to die, I have thought fit to make thislast will and testament. Imprimis. I give and bequeath my souldinto the hands of Almighty God, who gave it, and my body to be buriedin a decent and Christian-like manner, at the discretion of myExecutors hereafter to be named, in sure and certain hope of theresurrection from the dead. Respecting such worldly goods as ithath pleased God to bless me in this life, my will and desire is thatall my lawful debts be first paid out of my estate.

 

Item 1 &endash; That my perishable property besold (except one bed and bedstead and furniture) and also a tract ofland lying on Douglas Swamp called the Isaiah tract and all my stockof horses, cattle and hogs to be sold and after satisfying all myjust debts, the balance to be divided into five parts equally for myson Daniel Johnson, my son Isaiah Johns, Eligah Johnson, HarperJohnson and Blaney Johnson.

 

Item 2 &endash; All my personal property to besold at public auction and the money divided between my daughters orthe heirs of their body , my daughters Gatsy Harper, Betsy Hourhandand Margaret Binder.

 

Item 3 &endash; The bed and bedstead and furnitureexcepted, I do will and bequeath unto my son Blaney Johnson.

 

Lastly, I do hereby nominate and appoint my wellbeloved sons Harper and Blaney Johnson my sole Executors to this mylast will and testament, revoking and disannulling all other wills,legacies and bequests whatsoever, declaring

This and no other to be my last will andtestament.
