In The Name of God Amen---

I John Matthew Langstaff being in my perfect mind& Senses do make Ordain & Declare This Instrument of Writingto be my last will & Testament revoking all Others, AfterResigning my soul into the hands of him who gave it I wish my Body ifpossible And Convenient to be intered by my Deceased Daughter (EmillyEliza Langstaff) If not in any Genteel Burial Ground---

Imprimis - After my Just Debts are Justly &punctually paid I wish the Remainder of My Property to be divided asFollows---

Item - To my Dearly Beloved Wife Sarah Langstaff Igive & Bequeath One third of my Estate Both real &personal---

Item - To my Son Thomas Warren Langstaff I give& Bequeath One third of my Estate Both real &personal-

Item, & To my Daughter, Martha ElisabethLangstaff, I give & Bequeath One Third of My Estate Both real& personal---

Item - It is my Will & desire that my Wifeshall be at Liberty to draw her Third of The Estate Whenever sheshall think proper (after the debts are paid)---

Item - In Case either of the Children should diebefore they attain to the age of Twenty One Years it is my Will &Desire that the Deceased part shall be Equally Divided between theSurviving One & my Wife & should it please the Will of theDivine providence to take the both the Whole to fall to her---

Item - It is my Wish that the Executors shouldretain the property of the Children till they shall get Married orAttain to the age of Twenty One Years, To give them a Good Education& do Otherwise with them as they shall best see fit---

Item. There will appear by Thos. Frink & Co.Books to be a considerable debt against me but I sould wish myExecators not to Settle it until they shall have received one Sixthor the Stock Which was in Trade In August One Thousand Seven Hundred& Ninety Eight. (The Decease of my Father) Which to The best ofmy Recollection was between Eleven & Twelve Hundred Pounds alsoOne Sixth of the debts of that Concern both Store & Wharff &One Half of the debts of the Concern of William Neston & myFather (John Langstaff) should they say I have received any part apiece of writing herein inclosed will Convince them to theContrary.---

Lastly, I Constitute William Wright Senr. &William Wright Junr. both Planters of Claremont county my LawfullExecutors & my Dearly Beloved Wife Sarah Langstaff my LawfullExecutrix to See due Execution done to the Same.
