In the name of God Amen--I James McCoy of theState and district above named being in Good health, of body andperfect mind and memory (blefsed be God for the same but calling tomind the mortality of my body and knowing it is appointed unto allmen to die: do make and ordain this my last will and testament.Principally and first of all, I resign my Soul to God, who gave itand my worldly Estate with which it has pleased him to blefs me--Igive and bequeath in the following manner---

Item It is my will and desire that my executorsafter paying all my funeral charges, and all my Lawfull debts thatthe remainder of my estate both personal and real be divided, andgiven as follows---

Item It is my will and desire that my negro womanLucy, and her Son named Buck, remain on the plantation, for the useand benefit of my Wife, and her two Single daughter Lephonia andLavina during the natural life of my Wife Sarah McCoy and at thedeath of my Wife it is will and desire, that the said two negros andtheir increase be still kept on the plantation for the use of thesaid named daughters-Lephonia & Lavina, and at the death orMarriage of either that the said property be sold or divided as myexecutors think best and equally divided amongst all my now livingchildren

Item 2d It is my will desire that my negro. Girlnamed Mowning be given to my daughter Lephonia, her and her increaseto my said daughter Lephonia and her increase forever---

Item--I will and bequeath to my daughter CatraineClark a negro girl named Betty to her and the ifsue of her bodyforever---

Item-I will and bequeath to my daughter Lavina anegro girl named Fanny to her and her heirs forever---

Item-It is my will and desire that all my horsesand stock that I may die pofsefsed of be kept on the plantation forthe use and benifit of my wife and two daughter Lephonia &Lavina, and at the death of my wife, it is my will and desire thatthe horses and Stock on the plantation, be divided or sold as myexecutors see fit, and be equally divided between my daughtersLephonia & Lavina---

Item, It is my will desire that the tract of landnow in the pofsefsion of my Son in law Webb Clark, the husband of mydaughter Catharine, be given to her, and the ifsue of her bodyforever --the above land supposed to contain 50 acres more or lefs isbounded on the North by lands of Rev.d John Harrington, South on thelands of Capt Roger McLeod West on the lands by Joseph McCoy and onthe east by the balance of my land---

Item, the balance of my land which I may diepofsefsed of (excepting such as I have bargained and sold to WebbClark) be divided between my two daughter Lephonia, and Lavina, giventhe upper part on which my house now stand to my daughter Lephonia,to them and their heirs forever---

Furthermore-I do hereby constitute and appointCapt Roger McLeod and Stephen Lacoste Executors of this my last willand testament revoking and annulling all former wills andtestaments---

In witnefs whereof I have hereunto affixed my handand seal this the twenty fifth day of June in the year of our lordone thousand eight hundred and thirty eight and the sixty second yearof the American Independence
