In the Name of God amen. I Isham Moore of theState of South Carolina Sumter District and Claremont County being ina low State of health but of Sound Mind and Memory and knowing thatall men have once to die. I do make and ordain this my last will andtestament hereby revoking and disannulling all to this and formerwills made by me that is to say. First I recommend my soul into theHands of almighty god who gave it and my Body to be burried in adecent and Christain like manner by Executors and as to what worldlyeffects it hath pleased god to blefs me with after the payment of myJust debts I do give and dispose of in the following manner. Item. Igive and bequeath unto my Son Richard Moore six Negroes names asfollows Sharper a fellow Isaac and Mary his wife and their threeChildren William, Ilic, and Joe with all their future increase to himand his Heirs and afsign for ever and also Isaac & Marys youngestchild Edmond making in all seven I give to R. Moore. Item. I give andbequeath unto my Daughter Alice Moore seven Negroes names as follows,Jim a fellow, Jinny a girl, Buff and Sophia his wife and their twoChildren Buky and (Mymie?) and Mimis Child washington with theirfuture increase to her and her Heirs and afsigns for ever. Item. Igive and bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah Moore Seven Negroes names asfollows Winny a girl Monday and Nancy his wife and their fourChildren Ming, Jeremy, Affy, and Efsy, with their future increase toher and her Heirs and afsigns for ever. Item. I give and bequeathunto my Son John Moore Seven Negroes names as follows, Moses, Cun,and their five children Dinah, Tativa, Siset, Susan, and ned withtheir future increase to him and his Heirs and afsigns for ever.Item. I give and bequeath unto my other three Children Matha J MooreTabitha Polk and Ann M. I Buttes the Negroes that each have alreadyhad from me and are now in their pofsefsion each his seperate partwith their future increase to them and their Heirs and afsigns forever. Item. I will and desire that all the remainder of my Negroesnot before Mentioned shall be equally divided among my Children vizRichard Moore Matha J Moore Tabitha Polk Ann I ??? ??? Moore SarahMoore & John Moore to be divided out into lots so as to keep thefamily, together as near as pofsible and each lot to be valued bythree disinterested freeholders named by Executors, giving the choiceof old gibb and his Family or the first choice to my oldest sonRichard Moore and the next choice to my son Math.w J Moore and so onin rotation agreeable to age to the youngest each his lot agreeableto the valuation and paying the difference of any so as to make eachlot agreeable to them and the lawful Heirs of their body but shouldeither one or more of my children die without lawful isue of his orher or their body or body surviving the age of twenty one years It ismy desire that all their part here given shall return to my survivingchildren upon the like condition of returning to their survivors infailure of ifsue surviving twenty one years. Item. I give and deviseunto my two sons Richard Moore and Math.w Moore all the lands Ipofsefs between the West boundary of Manchester and beach Creek inthe river swamp including both high land and swamp to be divided by aline run from the line of Manchester to the said Creek so as to makeeach part equal in number of acres as nearly as pofsible and Rich.dMoore taking the half to the South of said line and Math.w J Moorethe half on the North to have and to hold the said parcels of Landand primises together with all the appurtenances and benifitswhatsoever to them and the heirs of their Body surviving the age oftwenty one years, and in failure of Ifsue surviving twenty one yearsin either or both his or theirs part or half to return to mysurviving Children. Item. I give and desire unto my son John Mooreall that parcel of Land formerly devised to me and Crft Singleton byCol.o Mathew Singleton and now in my pofsefsion and Know by the Nameof Cane Savannah Miles to have and to hold together with all thewaters water courses timber houses and Mills, and benefits,whatsoever, to him and the Heirs of his body surviving the age oftwenty one years, and in case of no ifsue to my surviving Children.Item. I give and bequeath unto my Children above mentioned ten lotsapiece in Manchester Rich.d Moore taking his from Peters line to hishouse now building including the house and lots whereon it stands andMath.w Moore taking his where he now lives and Tabitha Polk and AMButtes the lots whereon they first settled and adjoining togetherwith all the houses and benifits whatsoever to each and the Heirs oftheir bodies surviving the age of twenty one years, and in case offalur of ifsue to my Survivors Heirs. Item. I give and bequeath untomy four Children not Married Richard Moore Alice Moore Sarah Mooreand John Moore two beds and furniture a piece such as I now have, tobe chosen from among my beds at my death Rich.d Moore to have thefirst choice and the other in rotation as before and I also give untoeach of my Single children above mentioned four Cows and Calves to bechosen as above from among my stock to them and their Heirs for ever.Item. I give and bequeath unto my three youngest children Alice MooreSarah Moore and John Moore two lots a piece in Manchester to bechosen by themselves except the lots whereon I now live and Houses,and the lots already given. to them and the Heirs of their bodiessurviving the age of twenty one years and in case of failure toreturn to my Heirs surviving. Item. Lastly I desire that all the restof my property of whatever kind sooner not heretofore mentioned shallbe divided equally amongst all my children, agreeable to a valuation,for them and the Heirs of their body arriving at the age of twentyone years & in case of falure of isue to return to my survivingChildren. --I do further give to each of my grand children one smallNegro a piece to Math.w I J Moore a boy named gibb and to HarriotMoore & Hannah Moore Phebys two youngest Children both girls tothem and their Heirs for ever--and I do appoint Richard Moore andMath.w J Moore my Lawful Executors to take into pofsefsion all myEstate both real & personal at my death and to keep it togetheruntill all my debts are paid or until January 1805 and one yearlonger if they see proper--and no more--In witnefs I have hereuntoset my hand and Seal this 13th day of April in the year of our lord1803.
