In the name of God amen I Thomas Newman of theState of South Carolina and County of Salem Being in perfect Healthand memmory thanks be given unto God and Caulling unto mind themortality of the Body and Knowing that it is appointed for all menOnce to Die Do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament thatis to Say Principally and first of all I give and Recomend My Soulinto the hands of Almighty god that gave it and my Body I give andRecomend to Earth from whence it came to be Buried in a DecentChristian Like manner at the Discreation of my Executors NothingDoubting but at Resurection, I Shall Receive the Same again by theMighty Power of god and as Touching Such worldly Estate as it haspleased God to Blefs me with in this Life I give Demifs and Disposein the following manner and from me Thomas Newman First I give andBequeath to my Beloved Wife Elizabeth Two Hundred and Fiftey acres ofLand where I now Live and after her Deth to my DaughterSusanah---

I give and Bequeath to my Beloved Son Nehemiah OneHundred and forty five acres of Land to be Laid out from the LynchesCreek Road to my back Line on Carns Land, to enclude the plantationIsland Branch known by the Nam of Coles I give and Bequeath to my SonEsly One Hundred and forty five acres of Land adjoining the aboveLand and Being the Ballance of Said tracts of Land I give andBequeath to my Son John One Hundred acres of Land more or Lefs beingthe Ballance of My Land adjoining to the Land of Henry Durant on theSouth Side of the Islant Branch I give to my Son Eshaliah one Hundredacres of Land more or Lefs Being all the Land I profess between theIsland Branch and the Path known by the name of Hurst Path I give tomy Daughters Axsha Son Thomas Cole one Hundred acres of Land to beLaid off from the before mentioned Hurst Path to Hopes swamp aParllel Line with Line between me and Durant to Join the Said DurantLand I give and Bequeath to my Son Samuel one Hundred acres of Landmore or Lefs Being the Ballance of Said tract Situated Between HurstPath and Hope Swamp I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Mary, Two EldsDaughters first named Ellener and Elizabeth one Hundred acres of Landto be Laid out as it is now Laid out. adjoining Henry Durant Landbeing the place where the now Live I give and Bequeath to my DaughterElizabeth one Hundred acres of Land adjoining Between on SamuelNewman & Thomas Cole It is my will and Testament that all theaforesaid Land give and Bequeathed by me to my Children, to be forthem to use and Improve During there natural Lives and then to beEqually Divided among there Children. and so to be Continued toDevolve from one generation to an other but Should any of my ChildrenDie with out Isue there part to be Equally Divided among my SurvivingHeirs and as Touching my personal Estate I order that it to beEqually Divided among all my Children and my beloved Wife her Lifetime and then to my Daughter Susanah I Do hereby utterly Disanull andRevoke all other Wills and Bequeaths Herefore made by me and I Dohereby appoint Constitute and ordain my Beloved Brother JonathanNewman and my beloved Sons Nehemiah and Ethaliah Newman my Executorsof this my Last Will and Testament In Witnefs wherof I have Set myhand and Seal this 23 Day of July 1806.
