In the name of God amen, I Edward Rembert. of theState and District aforesaid Phisician: being in a low state of bodybut of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God, callinginto mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that it is appointedfor all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will andtestament that is to say principally and first of all, I give andrecommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God. That gave it andmy body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christianburial. at the discretion of my Executors, nothing doubting but atthe general resurrection I shall receive the same by the mighty powerof God. And as touching such worldly Estate as it has pleased God toblefs me with in this life I give demise and dispose of in thefollowing manner, First I give and bequeath unto my Brother ThomasRembert. one hundred dollars & I also give to my sister AmeliaLenoir one hundred dollars, & also to my sister Mary AnnSylvester one hundred dollars and I further give and bequeath to eachof my Brother Thomas Remberts three Sons James W. Rembert, EdwardRembert, and Thomas E Rembert, the sum of four hundred dollars, and Ifurther give and bequeath to my Brother, James E. Rembert the balanceof my estate consisting as follows, (Viz) one Negroe woman namedSabel one other negroe woman named Cotto. and two boys John &Richard, also one horse Saddle and bridle, together with all otherarticles appertaining to my Estate, provided that the said James E.Rembert shall pay all the Lawfull debts which may Come against myestate, - And I do hereby Make Constitute and ordain. Thomas English,and Francis L. Kennedy the sole Executors of this my last will andtestament and I do utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and everyformer testaments wills Legacies and bequests and executors by me byme in any wise before named willed and bequeathed ratifying andconfirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. InWitnefs Whereof I have hereunto Set My hand and seal 27th day of Julyin the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen.Signed Sealed published pronounced and declared by the Said EdwardRembert as his last will and testament in his presents and in thepresence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names,
