In the name of God amen, I Thomas Rembert of theState & District aforesaid Planter, being in a low state of body,but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God, calling tomind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed untoall men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will andtestament that is to say princepally and first of all I give andrecommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it. and mybody I recommend to the earth, to be buried in decent Christianburial at the discretion of My Executors, nothing doubting but at thegeneral resurection I shall receive again by the mighty power ofGod.

And as touching such worldly estate as it haspleased God to blefs me with in this life, I give demise and disposeof in the following manner and form, First I give to my beloved WifeSarah two negroes named Milly & Jack, during her life, I alsogive her forever one horse named Selam & one riding chair alsoone half of the house hold & kitchen Furniture & one thirdpart of the stock, I also give her during her life one third part ofmy land which at her death together with the two aforesaid negroesand their Increase I wish to return to my Children. the balance of myProperty Consisting of four negroes, Dick, Portland, Moriah, &Ancrum, Land Stock & house hold furniture equally divided betweenmy Children, the stock and household & kitchen furniture I wishkept together for the mutual use of the family during the widowhoodof my wife Sarah and when ever she may marry then I wish a divisionto take place two thirds of the stock and one half of the house hold& kitchen furniture which kept for the use of my Children and thebalance to the use of my wife Sarah and I do hereby constitute makeand ordain my beloved Wife Sarah Rembert and Francis L. Kennedy, thesole Executors of this my last will and testament, and I do herebyutterly disallow revoke & disannul every former Testaments Willslegacies bequests and Executors by me in any wise before named Willedand bequeathed Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be mylast will & Testament. in Witnefs whereof I have hereunto set myhand and seal this fifth day of February in the year of our Lord Onethousand eight hundred and Twenty---Signed sealed Published &declared by the said Thomas Rembert as his last will and Testament inhis Presence and in the Presence of each other have hereuntosubscribed our names.
