WILL OF RICHARD CHARLES WALTER

 

State of South Carolina

 

In the name of God Amen. I Richard Charles Walterof the District of Sumter in the State aforesaid Planter being ofsound & disposing Mind memory & Understanding, Do thisnineteenth day of June in the Year of our Lord One Thousand eightHundred- Make this my last Will & Testament in manner & formfollowing. Viz, first I will that all my just debts be fully paid assoon as it is pofsible for them to be after my disease-By myExecutors & Executrix herein after Named. Item, I give &bequeath unto my dearly beloved Wife Mary all my Household &Kitchen Furniture, Plate, & China of every Kind &denomination, And allso my rideing Chair & the Choice of the bestHorse I die pofsesed of, as her own property & for no other Use.Item, shou.d it be necefsary for any property to be disposed of, Iwish & desire that the following Negroes be sold & whateverlands my Executors shou.d think proper Viz. Romeo, Juliet, Beck &Myrtilla & the proceeds to be applyed to the payment of my debts,And Allso I authorize my Executors & Executrix to sell or buywhatever Horses they please for the Use of the plantation. Item Igive & bequeath all the rest of my property equally between mybeloved Wife & my Children share & share alike, And lastly IDo Nominate & appoint my dearly beloved Wife Executrix And myfriends Charles Richardson, William James Sam.l Fley, & my twobrothers John & William when they come to the age of Twenty two,Executors & Executrix of this my last Will & Testament. InWitnefs whereof I the said Richard Charles Walter have hereunto setmy hand & Seal the Day & Year first above Writen.
