In the Name of God amen I John Witherspoon ofSalem County planter being in a bad state of body but perfectly soundin Mind and memory, but Calling to Mind the Mortality of my body andknowing that it is appointed for all men once to die--I do order anddispose of the whole wherewith it has pleased God to blefs me in formand manner following Viz. I Will and bequeath unto my Son JohnWitherspoon one tract of land on the altomahaw in the State ofGeorgia to him and his Heirs forever Item, I Will and bequeath untomy Son Robert Witherspoon all the tract of land whereon I now liveWith all the appertenances, belonging and one feather bed, bedsteadand furniture, to him and his Heirs forever, Item, I Will andbequeath unto Leah Conyers, my Grand Daughter one Negro Wench Namedleah Now in the pofsefsion of the Said Leah Conyers, to her and herHeirs forever--Item, I Will and bequeath unto Hester Jane Witherspoonmy grand Daughter one Negro Wench Named Peg now in pofsefsion of saidHester Jane Witherspoon Item, I Will and bequeath ChristianLittleton her choice of two Cows, and four ewes out of myestate

Item, I Will and bequeath unto my beloved WifeMary Witherspoon my whole estate to dispose of as She thinks properduring her life and that the said Mary Witherspoon may bestow or giveaway any property excepting the House and plantation-above mentionedwhich are to belong to my Son Robert Witherspoon at her death---Item,I will and bequeath my Negroes, old and young that they be equallyDevided between my five children Viz John Witherspoon, JamesWitherspoon, Mary Conyers, Sarah McFadden and Robert Witherspoon, atthe death of, my beloved Wife, Mary Witherspoon and that theremainder of my estate Horses, Cows, Sheep Hogs, plantation Tools,& household furniture, that the above Stock and householdfurniture, be sold on bondue and the amount to be equally Devidedbetween John Witherspoon, James Witherspoon, Mary Conyers and SarahMcfaddin Item I will and bequeath Mare Jennet Witherspoon Littletonthe sum of forty Pounds Sterling for her Schooling and Ca (cash?) tobe paid unto Sarah Mcfaddin her guardian, as I appoint her and it isto be paid in two years after my Decease; I do constitute, andappoint John Witherspoon my son. Thomas Mcfaddin, James Witherspoon,Robert Witherspoon, and Mary Conyers, Executors to this my last Willand Testament. and I do hereby revoke and disannul all other Willsand bequeaths, and I declare this my last Will and Testament InWitnefs hereof, this day set my hand and Seal this ninth day of Aprilin the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four,1804---
