Will of Charles Brock

        

State So. Carolina Sumter District -

 

In the name of God , Amen -

    I Charles P. Brock of the State & Dis.t above, being of Sound mind, but weak of body, do make & ordain this my last will & testament as follows Viz -

First It is my will & desire that my Negroes Daniel, Anthony, Edmund & Hannah be equally divided between my two Brothers James R. & Wm. Brock -  Item Second - It is my will & desire that my Brother Wm. Brock Shall have the tract of Land whereon I now reside, with all the appertinances thereunto annexed -

Item - I give and bequeath unto My Brother, James R. Brock one other tract of land owned by me, & lying on Santee Swamp -

Item ‑ I give & bequeath unto my Beloved Niece Laura Brock, my Negro Girl Molly, with her increase. I give and bequeath unto my Nephew, Francis E Martin, My Sorrel Mare, also my  entire stock of Cattle - My stock of Hogs to be equally divided between my Brothers Wm & James R Brock. I do hereby desire that my Estate be divided as above, as Soon after my decease as practicable the same to be effected by my two Brothers James R. & Wm. Brock whom I constitute my Executors to this my last will & testament ‑ renouncing all others which may have been heretofore made by me ‑

Signed, Sealed, Published, & acknowledged to be my last will & testament, this 26th. day of April in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred & thirty Six, in the presence of -
