Will of Rebekah Cantey

        

South Carolina Sumter District Clarendon County, In the Name of god Amen, I Rebeckah Cantey being weak of body, but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to god, Calling to mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all persons onest to die, do make and ordain this my last will and Testament That is to say principally & first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of almighty god that gave it, and my body I recommend to the Earth to be Buried decent Christian buriel at the Discretion of my Executors, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God. and as Touching such worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased god to blefs me in this life with, I give demise and dispose of the same in the following Manner and form, First I give and bequeath to my beloved Daughter Martha R. Cantey the following Negros Namely Kizzy. Sam. Brister. Charles and little Jenny, I also give my beloved sons William Cantey Zackeriah Cantey & James Cantey all & singular my lands and Teniments, also all my Household and Kitchen Furniture with my stock of every Kind by them freely to be pofsesed and injoyed share and share  alike and should my Daughter Martha R Cantey happen to die with out lawfull Ifsue of her body that share left her to be equally Divided betwixt my sons William Zackeriah and James. and I do hereby disallow revoke and disanul every other Testiment. will Legacies, Bequeaths and Executors by me in any wise before Named willed and bequeathed‑‑‑‑ and I do hereby constitute  make and ordain my well beloved Brother, Henry Richbourg ju .n and my son James Cantey & my friend Jefse Nettles jr my only and lawfull Executors to this my last will Testament. in witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourteenth day of December in the year of our lord one Thousand eight hundred and Twenty two.
