In the name of God Amen this fourth day ofJanuary One thousand Seven hundred & Ninety three I PlilemonCubbage of Camden district & State of South Carolina Being veryweak in body but of perfect mind & memory, blessed be God,&.doubting the time of my desolution to be near at hand do give& recommend my Soul to God, my Body to be decently buried, myworldly Estate to be disposed

of as follows, Viz My funeral charges & debtsto be paid in & convenient time after my death ------------------------------------- Items I give & bequeathunto my Daughter Anah one negro Girl named Philis and her Stock ofCattle marked with three fingers & underbit in one ear and aSteplefork In the other bar together with a grey Gelding her saddle& bridle her Bed & Its furniture half a dozen of Chairs &a looking Glass to enjoy & possess the same at my decease -------------------------------------------Item I give & bequeathunto my Daughter Mary the Sum of Sixty pounds, forty pounds of it tobe laid out for a negro Girl for my Said Daughter & the purchaseto be made as soon as convenient after my decease --------------------------------------------------- Item I give &bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah one negro Girl named Clareyseytogether with thirty five pounds Current money --------

Item I give & bequeath unto my three SonsJohn, Thomas, & William, Banks one negro Woman named Charlotte& all her Increase and a Boy named Jim to be equally dividedamong them ------------------

I do hereby authorize my Executors hereafter namedto hire out to discreet persona my three Negroes named Cyrus, Jude,& Charlotte for the term of four Years for the best price theycan get & the money & arising therefrom to be disposed of inSchooling & Maintaining my three Sons John, Thomas, & WilliamBanks --------------------------

I do further authorize my Executors after theexpiration of the above four Years to expose to public Auction Theabove mentioned two Negroes Cyrus & Jude & the Money arisingfrom such Sale to be equally divided among my three Daughters Anah,Mary, & Sarah ------

Item it is my will & desire that my daughterenjoyed their part at the age of eighteen years or marriage and thatit be entailed to them & the heirs of their bodiesforever.

Item I give & bequeath unto my threeDaughters Anah, Mary & Sarah all the money arising from the Saleof the remainder

of my personal Estate and do hereby. Order myExecutors to have Such Public Sale within twenty days after mydecease giving one Years Credit -------------------------------------------------------- I do herebygive my Executors absolute power & authority upon receiving fullpayment of a Bond of one hundred & forty pounds upon Major JohnGamble & George Cooper Esquire to make good sufficient titles toSaid Major John Gamble & George Cooper Esq for two tracts of LandViz the one wherein I now dwell containing 200 Acres the otherAdjoining containing one hundred Acres, both tracts was Originallygranted to Charles Storey ---------- Item I give and bequeath untomy three Sons John. Thomas & William Banks one hundred &forty pounds current, money to be equally divided between them attheir arrival at the age of twenty Years or at their marriage theMoney arising from certain Bond upon Major Gamble & George CooperEsquire which Money is to be kept at Interest by my Executors -------------------------------------------- I do require myExecutors to put my three Son's to trades when they Judge proper ---------------------------------------------- I do hereby appointCapt Thomas McFadden, Sutton Byrd, Charles Storey, James Witherspoon& Jacob Wooters my whole & Sole Executors of this my lastWill & Testament & do hereby disallow & disannul all andevery other will & wills Legacies & bequeaths by me in anyways before this time named willed & bequeathed ratifying &Confirming this & no other to be my last Will & Testament inWitness
