Will of Charles Hiatt

In the name of God Amen. I, Charles Hiatt ofSumter District State of South Carolina being weak in body but ofSound and disposing mind, do make this my last Will and testament(Vis) I give unto my Wife Sarah Hiatt during her natural life timeall my lands and at her death the Same Shall belong to my daughter,Martha Davis, I give also unto my Wife Sarah during her natural lifetime two negroes (Viz) Jacob and Edy, and at her death the negrosJacob and Edy and Edys future increase Shall be Equally dividedbetween my Son Richard Hiatt and my daughter Martha Davis -- I giveunto my daughter Martha Davis one negro girl, Mahagy, all the restand residue of my negroes I give unto my Son, Richard Hiatt and mydaughter Martha Davis to be Equally divided between the Said Richard& Martha as theirs Either by Sale or Partition as they togetherwith my Executor may think best, all the rest and residue of myEstate Consisting of crop, Horses, Cattle hogs household &kitchen furniture tools &c. I will and direct to be Sold my Justdebts paid, and the residue of the proceeds of Sale Equally dividedbetween my wife Sarah Hiatt, my Son, Richard Hiatt and my daughterMartha Davis -- lastly I nominate Constitute and appoint my friendAlford Scarborough Executor to this my last Will and testament--
