Will of George James

        

I George Ford James, of Sumter District. South Carolina, do & ordain this my last Will and Testament.

First, I give and bequeath to my sister Sarah Jane James, the whole of my undivided portion of the following named negroes; bequeathed by my Father to my said sister and myself, and as yet undivided: Viz- Nenus and her seven children- Harriet and two children, May, Hannah, Rose, Dave, Tamby, young May, Serena, Bella, Edmond, Angus, Lewis, Alice, young Hannah, Hercules, Jin, Sam, Plenty, York, Cupid, Cresia, and one child, and Casar, together with their natural increase.

And I also give, devise, and bequeath, unto the said Sarah Jane James, my right in Remainder to the House and Land on which she now resides and in which she has a life estate, to her and her heirs forever.

And I hereby appoint Dr J. B. Witherspoon, executor; and Sarah Jane James, executrix; of this my last will & Testament

   In witnefs whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal, the twenty-fourth day of June, and in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty-three.
